DirecTV
offers about 225 channels and a number of HDTV and DVR packages.
It does offer a few extra sports channels but you would have
to pay extra to see those.
Ordinarily, Dish Network is more aggressive in its marketing plans but we are now seeing resurgence in DirecTV's methods. Recently VOOM has been going through difficult times and has announced a shutdown of its operations on 30 April 2005.
DirecTV has responded rapidly and has offered all VOOM subscribers
A $200 rebate if they switch over to DirecTV. All they have to do is opt for one of the DirecTV programs or services and submit proof of VOOM subscription.
